Opera night

Dear Hadleigh,

A small group of friends led by Simon and Sarah Thompson and Sarah Gallop from the Hadleigh Community Choir will be performing an evening of Opera and Not Opera at The Old School, 3-5 Bridge Street, Hadleigh IP7 6BY on Friday 25th November 2022 at 7:30pm.

Titled 'What's Opera, Doc?', this evening brings you a different look at Opera; it's not just big voices booming out 'Nessun Dorma' or 'Figaro'.

The English National Opera company defines Opera as 'Opera (the Italian for work) is an art form that tells a story through music and singing. Unlike a musical, opera singers do not use microphones to amplify their voices, and the music, played by the orchestra, is completely live.'

We will, of course, be singing some pieces from famous Operas such as 'Cosi Fan Tutte', 'Hansel and Gretel', 'Magic Flute' and 'Madame Butterfly', but there will also be pieces from 'Les Miserables', 'Miss Saigon', 'Phantom of the Opera', 'Chess' and many more.

We would love to see you there.

Simon Thompson
