Hadleigh United's big Christmas weekend derby against Brantham Athletic has been called off.

The Brettsiders were due to host the Imps at Millfield on Monday, December 27 for an 11.45am kick off in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division but will instead have the whole weekend off.

League officials took the decision to cancel all of Monday's matches

A Thurlow Nunn statement said: "We regard this as a responsible course of action and one that eliminates pre-Christmas uncertainty.

"Clubs were canvassed on their views and almost two thirds were in support on this course of action."

There has also been unease expressed about playing matches on January 3 and a decision will be made about these fixtures as soon as possible.
