Three half-time substitutions and strong words of wisdom inspired Hadleigh to a come from behind win at Kirkley & Pakefield.

The Royals raced to a two goal lead through Tyler Miller & Dan Munro before Hadleigh hit back.

Carlos Edwards, who will be 45 on Tuesday, set up Ollie Dunlop to pull one back in a turgid first half.

Steve Holder made wholesale changes at the break, with Tom Warren, George Bugg and Regan Pelling all going on to fire things up.

It worked.

Warren got two late goals after good work from debut-making sub Josh Folkes and Hadleigh went home happy.

Hadleigh now have two away cup matches at Harwich on Tuesday, and then Felixstowe eight evenings later.

Holder also made a cameo appearance from the bench when Pelling came off with an apparent hamstring injury.
