Marden Homes initially failed to pay CIL on development

Developers have been warned they can not escape paying outstanding Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) after Babergh secured an out-of-court settlement of £163,590an Essex building firm.

CIL is required to be paid by developers when building new homes in Babergh – ensuring local facilities keep pace with housing growth and supporting the council's ongoing ambition for its communities to be attractive, successful and connected places for people to live and work in.

Seven people were arrested, more than 100 vehicles were stopped and 95 Traffic Offence Reports issued, during a multi-agency day of action which targeted roads close to Hadleigh among others.

Nub News reported on Tuesday's Operation Alliance, which had the aim of disrupting and frustrating the activities of criminals, including organised crime groups, who commit offences across county borders whilst using the road network.
