An elderly woman has died following a collision in Hadleigh over the weekend, police have confirmed.

Hadleigh's fire crew, and an engines from Ipswich, were called to a collision between two cars at the junction of Lady Lane and Aldham Green Road around 9.45am on Saturday morning.

Police and ambulance also attended and the road was closed from more than two hours.

A police spokesperson said: "A Toyota Aygo was involved in a collision with a Ford Ranger, following which the rear passenger of the Toyota – a woman aged in her 70s - was taken to Ipswich Hospital, where she sadly died.

"Officers would like to hear from any witnesses and ask any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference: CAD 105 of 25 June via email or by calling 101.
