Did You Know?

English adventurer, writer, spy and courtier Walter Raleigh was beheaded on this day in 1618 for allegedly conspiring against King James I of England. Raleigh introduced potatoes and tobacco to the nation but twice fell foul of King James, the second time for ransacking a Spanish settlement on his voyage to find El Dorado and was topped at the Palace of Westminster.

Joke of the day:

My neighbour has a new Spanish teacher at school, his name is Mr Armada.
