UPDATED: Road reopened after serious crash at Hintlesham caused delays on main Hadleigh to Ipswich road

UPDATED: A1070 now reopened.

Motorists had to find alternative back routes on the main road between Hadleigh and Ipswich last night.

Police and other emergency services were at the scene following a serious road traffic collision on the A1071 in Hintlesham.

Officers were called just after 5.35pm, Monday 29 March, to a road traffic collision between a motorcycle and a car.

The road was closed in both directions and will remain closed while enquiries are carried out. Drivers had to navigate alternative routes via Burstall, Elmsett, Aldham, Chattisham, and Raydon delays s the back roads soon became blocked at times.

Any witnesses should contact Suffolk Police on 101 quoting CAD 288 of 29 March 2021.
