The Royal Bengal Indian restaurant and takeaway has been rated four stars by food hygiene inspectors, weeks after scoring just a one star.

Health inspectors revisited the Royal Bengal on January 18 and rated the High Street premises four out of five stars. The confirmation of the new rating has now been officially published on the Babergh food hygiene. website

Inspectors rated the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building as good, along with the management of food safety.

However, the owners were told hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage was only generally satisfactory.

The Royal Bengal had been given a one-star rating after a visit by inspectors in December.
