Police question man after elderly Hadleigh person dies in quiet residential street

A man has been questioned under caution by police after a person in his 70s died in Hadleigh on Saturday..

Police were contacted at just after 3pm on 20 November by the Ambulance Service, reporting they had been called to attend a man in need of urgent medical attention at an address in Edwin Panks Road, it has been confirmed

A police spokesman said: "The man – aged in his 70s – was sadly later declared deceased at the scene despite the best efforts of medical personnel.

"Detectives are investigating the circumstances leading to the death and a man has been voluntarily interviewed under caution in connection with the incident.

"This is being treated as an isolated incident with all parties involved known to each other."

Police enquiries are continuing pending the outcome of a post-mortem examination, which is due to take place on Wednesday.

The victim's name has not yet been officially released, although neighbours are aware and have expressed their shock and sadness.

*Hadleigh Nub News reported on Saturday how the air ambulance were called but a man died in unexplained circumstances.
