A stabbing in Hadleigh's Market Place has been described by police as an 'isolated incident'.

Police were called to the Hadleigh Health centre on Tuesday afternoon when a man sought medical help after being stabbed.

He was subsequently taken to hospital to be treated for stab wounds and later allowed home.

A Suffolk Constabulary spokesperson said: “Police were called shortly after 5.50pm yesterday, Tuesday 23 November, following reports that an incident had taken place within an address in Market Place, Hadleigh, involving two males.

“The victim - a man aged in his 30s – sustained stab wounds to his chest and arm area following an altercation. He attended the health centre and was then taken to hospital via ambulance for treatment and was later discharged.

“Early enquiries lead detectives to believe that this was an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the local community."

Police seeking witnesses

One person who was at the health centre when the visitor arrived, described how the victim removed a high vis jacket, then another player of clothing to reveal a bloodied torso.

Any witnesses or anyone with information, should contact South CID at Landmark House in Ipswich, quoting crime reference number: 37/66360/21
