Nestled in the beautiful village of Kersey and only a ten minute drive from Hadleigh, The Bell Inn has everything going for it from the exterior.

With it's wooden beams (my personal favourite), it looks like a quintessential traditional English pub.

The outside area, by the car park, looked like a fantastic venue for the summer. However, as it was very cold, I was more looking forward to getting indoors.

Walking in, I was greeted by a real fireplace burning which, paired alongside the aforementioned wooden beams and the furniture, made the pub feel all the more homely and cosy.

Sitting down and looking through the menu, I was met with an abundance of choices, making it difficult for me to choose.

Stuck between the seafood linguini and the Cajun chicken burger, I went for the latter option.

As soon as the burger came out, I was greeted by an incredible smell. I was borderline drooling and I could not wait to tuck in.

It tasted as good as it smelt. The knockout, however, was the garlic and shallot mayo which was extraordinary when paired with the spiciness of the Cajun seasoning.

I could tell the chips were hand-cut, they were delicious with the perfect combination of crispy outside and fluffy on the inside.

However, I only ate the cucumbers with from the side salad but that is just my personal, picky preference.

My companion had the lamb burger with tzatziki and feta which looked equally as tasty.

We attempted to peruse the enticing dessert menu but I was too full to even spend too long reading it.

Our server was friendly and attentive throughout the meal which added to the homely feel to the place.

In short, it was an incredible lunch which left me incredibly full and incredibly happy.

For the who have been watching the magpie Murders on Britbox, you may recognise the Bell, although it was renamed the Queens Arms for the series, and given a temporary sign.
