FINITE: The Climate of Change
An immersive experience of being shoulder to shoulder with people who take a stand.
The story of an ancient German forest, an area of outstanding natural beauty in the North East of England and the people who stood up to the coal companies who would destroy them. We join two groups of activists in an emotional David and Goliath battle for the planet, in the tunnels and trees, in the courts and in confrontations with police.
Rich Felgate is an activist and his film takes us into the heart of the groups who hold out, who resist and who fight. During the course of the film, we are taken from hope to hopelessness and back again.
There is a sense that fighting the endless fight might make a difference, but that it is as important to do something. It's a game of chess and of knowing your opponent but it is also a serious matter of survival. The survival of our planet for all our children and their children.
As one activist says to a police officer arresting him 'I'm doing this for you'.
"a persuasive and powerful case against climate crisis fatigue" - The Guardian
