Instead of passing over the iconic Tower Bridge, or going past the historic Cutty Sark and up the Mall for the finish in the London marathon this Sunday, one runner will be pounding the streets of Hadleigh aiming to raise money for two very special causes, in his own very unique way.

Bed and breakfast owner Stuart Service is taking part in the Virtual London marathon this weekend, along with 45,000 other runners across 109 countries, using an app which will record their time and distance.

Play areas like this one in Corks Lane will be managed directly by Babergh

Babergh's cabinet has approved plans which will see the management of public open spaces, playgrounds, and litter bins move in-house.

Public realm services in Babergh will be directly managed by the council from November 2021. The change will follow the end of the council's current contract with Idverde in October 2021.

Hadleigh Nursing Home owner Daya Thayan named among country's top CEOs

Daya Thayan, the boss of Hadleigh Nursing Home's parent company Kingsley Healthcare Group, has been rated among the top 10 CEOs in the UK for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Company review website Glassdoor has compiled the list after analysing employee reviews to identify CEOs who have earned high praise for their leadership during the Covid-19 crisis.

Plans to increase HGV trips to and from Hadleigh Quarry by nearly 16,000 a year have been rejected by Suffolk planers.

Suffolk County Council's development and regulation committee yesterday refused permission for JT Few Plant Hire and Buffalo Crow to increase HGV movements at the site in Aldham Mill Hill from a capacity of 1,000 movements per year, to up to 16,000 a year.
