Dear Nub News.

After following the mess surrounding the Hadleigh Town Council, I feel compelled to express disgust with our public servants' behaviour.

There are many occasions I could write about, but the latest is the vote regarding the '12 Magpies Accountancy' scandal.

After reviewing the most recent update on the allocation of taxpayers' money, I have grown concerned and would like everyone to share my sentiments.

The town council members don't conduct thorough research before voting and instead rely on each other's opinions or, worse still, a hand in the air. This creates an even bigger issue, especially if they already knew who had been appointed.

When the town clerk was questioned by Mr Gower (although it didn't seem like Mr Gower was very determined and was perhaps only doing it for the camera or to protect himself), he was met with a complete lack of respect.

The town clerk's statement, "I would like to think that you would think I had done my research into someone that could look after the financial function of the council in the short term; that is all I have got to say about the company that you are about to vote for." only made the situation worse, and it caused the public's alarm bells to ring even louder than before.

The Town Clerk made Mr Gower look like a foolish schoolboy being scolded by a headmistress too afraid to defend himself. If this is the level of service that the town council provides to us as taxpayers in Hadleigh, then I urge everyone to question everything.

A resident of Hadleigh who is feeling disappointed.
