Call for balanced reporting on poor Hadleigh councillors

Dear Sirs

Although I appreciate your reporting on certain Conservative Councillors may have some merit, and if they are in the public eye, should expect scrutiny from voters, your readers and columnists.

However, I do wish Nub News would show more balance and also highlight the behaviour and failure of Non-Conservatives.

In particular I would like to see more scrutiny in regards to Kathryn Grandon and, in my opinion, her completely ineffective tenure as Babergh Councillor for Hadleigh. From what I can see she has not represented residents in any meaningful way in getting things done to make our lives better.

It seems she only turns up to something if she is going to have her picture taken but otherwise, from people I have spoken with, she does nothing, and quite often does not even respond to emails.

Minutes show she has never attended a Hadleigh Town Council meeting, or even bothered to send in a monthly report, which our Conservative Councillors regularly do. Mrs Grandon's record of attendance at Babergh meetings over her four years has not been much better.

I will concede, as another letter writer pointed out, is that Hadleigh deserves better.

I know your editor is a fellow Independent of Mrs Grandon's but I hope Nub News will show fairness and balance by publishing this letter, and also give me the same courtesy as others, and redact my full address.

Yours Sincerely

Cassandra Hart

Hadleigh resident.

*Editor's note

Cllr Grandon was deselected by the Conservatives in 2019 so stood as an Independent.

Illness and holidays prevented attendance to Babergh meetings and she was given special dispensation.
