Even though Hadleigh Connie Powell has not been included on the team sheet for England's Red Roses World Cup final against New Zealand tomorrow morning, she is determined to play her part in bringing the trophy back home.

The 22-year-old former Hadleigh High School student will return to Eden Park, where she played and scored, in the first round match against Fiji, to be part of the team's warm up, and making sure the rest of the girls have everything in place to face the Black Ferns.

Although they are stepping into New Zealand's front room, England are in outstanding former with a 30-game winning streak, the longest ever run in women's or men's Test rugby history.

The Red Roses have won their last two Tests against New Zealand, each by margins of greater than 30 points

Whatever happens in the final, which kicks of a 6.30am on Saturday, live on ITV4, Connie has been thrilled to part of something special and will even be using her hairdressing skills.

"On game day we will wake up as late as possible, enjoy a morning coffee, meet up for walk throughs and team meetings.

"I will be on the pitch helping the players with their warm p and just basically supporting the players as much as possible.

"That includes plaiting hair, take look and you will see the girls hair are all on point."

The tightness of Simon Middleton's squad has been a big factor in England's success and while Connie has had to be patient, not her best feature , she has used this experience to build on, and will look to force her way to a starting spot come the next world cup, which will be in England.

She said: "You always want to play, but the girls in my position have been outstanding, so I will learn, listen, bide my time and target the next World Cup.

"I will probably be sitting at home in a year thing]king wow, oh my gosh, I was playing at a World Cup in New Zealand as the age of 22, that is something else."

Connie is also looking forward to coming back a World Cup winner this time round.

"It is such a special group and we have been together since June out here six weeks," Connie said: "It is such a tight knit group and everyone is mega excited but we are also really focussed on winning.."

"I know when I get back there will be some post tour blue because we have spent more time with each other than our families and we are all so close."

Connie will be visiting her family in friends in Hadleigh when England return before heading back to Gloucester and a new targeted for the focused hooker.

"We plan to come home with the trophy, then I will be looking at winning the Premiership with Gloucester." she said.

."We have some really good signings we have been in contention for top four so now for me winning the Premiership is a goal, and winning a world cup would be pretty special too.

Meanwhile, Connie has message for all those young girls starting out, or being inspired by the Red Roses achievements and said:

"Chase your dreams because anything can happen. Good things happens to those that work hard and dreams do come true."
