Goals from Carlos Edwards and Lloyd Clarke secured Hadleigh's first win in nine league and cup games as they beat Mulbarton Wanderers 2-1 at Millfield.

Veteran midfielder Edwards put United ahead with a deflected first half shot. The visitors felt hard done by when Jack Baker was only shown a yellow by referee, and Hadleigh stalwart, Carl Beer, for a tough tackle on Angus Mackie, with Wanderers calling for a red card.

Clarke secured victory with a stunning 25-yarder, which went in off the underside of the crossbar, and celebrated in style.

Ashley Jarvis headed in a late, late consolation but Hadleigh hung on to stay 10th in the Eastern Counties Premier Division.
