Woman to appear at Crown Court after today being bailed by magistrates following fatal collision in Hadleigh

A 76-year-old woman has today appeared at court charged in connection with a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Hadleigh last year. 

Police were called at just before 10am on Saturday 25 June 2022, to a two-vehicle incident in Lady Lane, at the crossroads with Aldham Road, The Green and Angel Street.

A blue Toyota Aygo was involved in a collision with an orange Ford Ranger, following which the rear passenger of the Toyota – a 76-year-old woman - was taken to Ipswich Hospital, where she sadly died.

Ann Abbott, of Marlborough Drive, Sudbury, appeared at Cambridge Magistrates' Court today, Thursday 6 July, where she was formally charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Abbott was granted bail pending a next hearing at Cambridge Crown Court on Thursday 3 August.
