Why Hadleigh is one of the best places to live in the UK

Despite the political shenanigans, a recent spate of tragic loss of lives and traffic issues, Hadleigh was recently rated as one of the top 10 places to live in England and Wales.
Garrington, a national property agency research expert, rated Hadleigh as the eight best place to live, squeezed between Wilton in the west country and Folkestone in Kent.
Bath was rated as number one, for the second year in a row, while Lyme Regis and Salisbury made up the top three.
One of the main reasons Hadleigh rose from being 33rd last year, was its 'green' credentials, helped in no small part by a number of Babergh initiatives, led by Independent councillor Liz Malvisi, who has been the district council's environmental portfolio holder since 2019.
Tree planting, especially in the cemetery area, changes to the swimming pool efficiencies, cycling and walking initiatives and green school projects, have all helped in the scoring matrix, taking it to 25th out of the 1,372 places marked.,
Quality of living was also a factor and with its range of good pubs, restaurants, attractions, for townsfolk and visitors alike, and the constant range of things to do, as highlighted in the definitive Nub News What's On guide, Hadleigh has something for everyone.
According to Garrington, Hadleigh has an architectural beauty ranking of 89th out of 1372and a natural beauty ranking of 230 out of 1,372.
With an average family home cost: £350k-£650k Hadleigh comes in as fourth in the 695 price bands.
