Kersey and Lavenham are set to feature on the big screen once again.

The two villages near Hadleigh are being used as the backdrop for a new Netflix film, called The Strays, a British psychological horror movie that tells the story of one woman's extreme self-betrayal.

Filming took place in the Autumn of with Screen Suffolk responsible in finding and managing some of the key locations.

Kersey High Street and the main square in Lavenham had restricted access to the public over a few days as they were transformed into Castle Combes.

Jim Horsfield, from Screen Suffolk, said: "We have a fantastic range of beautiful villages in Suffolk and we were delighted when the location manager contacted us to find locations that could be the fictional village of Castle Combe.

"After visiting numerous villages within the Babergh district, they decided to use Lavenham due to its other worldy look and Kersey, which was also used as as a main location for the Anthony Horowitz drama 'Magpie Murders' which will be aired on the BBC later this year."

Lavenham has previously been used as a location for Harry Potter scenesand in the British horror movie Witchfinder General and John Lennon and Yoko Ono used the Market Place for scenes for a short film called Apotheosis, featuring a hot air balloon.

The Strays, which stars Ashley Madekwe as a woman whose life starts to unravel when two strangers appear in her town, is now available for streaming on Netflix.
