A 76-year-old woman will appear at court next month charged in connection with a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Hadleigh last year. 

Police were called at just before 10am on Saturday 25 June 2022, to a two-vehicle incident in Lady Lane, at the crossroads with Aldham Road, The Green and Angel Street.

A blue Toyota Aygo was involved in a collision with an orange Ford Ranger, following which the rear passenger of the Toyota – a 76-year-old woman - was taken to Ipswich Hospital, where she sadly died.

A 76-year-old woman from Sudbury has subsequently been summonsed to appear at Cambridge Magistrates' Court on Thursday 6 July, where she will be formally charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about this incident to contact the Joint Norfolk & Suffolk Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference: 37/39932/22.
