The owners of Battlebury's at the Kings' head on the Hadleigh High Street has warned they may not open again until Easter.

Like all pubs, Battlebury's closed due to Suffolk being placed in Tier 4 on December 23 and boss Mike Ager believes even with the start of vaccinations in the Hadleigh area from mid-January and other restrictions in place, pubs and restaurants will struggle to function.

In a message on the pub's website Mike said: "It is with heavy hearts and great regret that we are forced once more to close our doors.

"This past year has been very tough for many of our customers and friends, and we would like to thank you all for your support and cooperation throughout.

"Whilst there is now hope for the coming year, we realistically are not expecting to reopen until Easter.

"We will continue to keep our website updated and post reopening new via local media. Wishing you all well and keep safe.

"Mike and the Battlebury Team."

Although to the tier system will be regularly reviewed, Babergh remains among the highest infection areas in Suffolk, according to the latest available figures from Public Health Suffolk.
