Police are investigating a report of a theft by false representation in Hadleigh.

Suffolk police today confirmed: "On March 31 an unknown woman collected a number of Easter eggs from Morrison's supermarket, claiming to be from the food bank for whom the items were intended."

However, the items were not handed on to the Just Food Hadleigh, food bank, which claims the chocolate eggs were in their clearly marked cage

Food bank organiser Neil Bevis, said: "Just Food in Hadleigh and Bildeston food bank support the police in their investigations.

"Sadly this year we did not have as many Easter eggs as we would have liked to distribute to the families we care for."

Enquiries are ongoing and police are asking that anyone with any information should contact them quoting reference 37/17035/21, by calling 101 or via their online reporting tool here...

Morrisons have been contacted for comment.
