Update:

Police are appealing for witnesses following a lorry fire in Hadleigh.

Officers would like to hear from any witnesses to the incident and are also appealing for anyone who was near Lady Lane in Hadleigh yesterday morning - in either direction - just prior to the incident and who has CCTV footage, to review the footage for anything that may be of assistance.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Suffolk Police, quoting reference: 37/56082/22.

* A lorry was left completely burnt out after an early morning blaze in Hadleigh.

Fire crews from Hadleigh, Woodbridge and Ipswich tackled the blaze at 3.30am today and spent two hours at the scene.

It is believed there were small explosions and the lorry was left gutted after the blaze in a field near the Lady Lane junction on the Hadleigh bypass.

Officers were called to the scene of a lorry fire following reports of loud bangs in the area.

It is suspected an attempt was being made to steal diesel from a nearby fuel depot

Police remained on the scene this morning as they look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

There were no reported causalities and no arrests made so far.

A Suffolk police spokesperson confirmed: "The incident is currently being investigated as an attempted theft and enquiries are ongoing."
