Pets banned from Guildhall

Animal lovers are to be told they can not bring their animals to a wedding in the Guildhall, although there are currently no rules banning them.

The move came after a wedding guest wrote asking if it would be alright for them to take their pets inside but committee members of the Hadleigh Market Feoffment Charity last night said they did not want to agree to the request due to hygiene reasons.

The town clerk has agreed to put together a formal policy banning pets, with the exception of assistance dogs.

Although councillors did not vote on the decision, as the item was only on the agenda as something to be discussed, the clerk will write to the wedding party to tell them they can't bring their pets.

Meanwhile, committee members agreed to spend £934.20 on 50 replacement chairs in the Guild Room.
