Opening date revealed as new Hadleigh swimming pool makes a splash

Water babes of all ages and abilities will be able to enjoy Hadleigh's recently refurbished swimming pool and facilities as from April 12.

With a specially designed pool pad allowing even greater access, along with gently sloping steps, the new look 25metre long pool is ideal for swimmers from beginners, to competitive aqua athletes.

Babergh has invested £2.4million in the pool at Hadleigh Leisure centre. The town council has pumped in £200,000 and Sport England have waded in with a £150,000 as the facility aims to makes a splash, across the district.

A Babergh spokesman said: "The investment in Hadleigh swimming pool is another step in out leisure strategy to ensure our residents and communities can remain healthy and active for years to come, and shows we support their health and wellbeing.

Not only is this important step towards achieving the aims set out in our Leisure, Sport & Physical Activity Strategy but the work forms part of the vision for Hadleigh and the town."

Babergh worked closely with partners Abbeycroft Leisure and contractors Rose to ensure a high standard finish, despite a difficult pandemic affected year.

Swimming clubs, causal users and other classes will be able to use the pool through the booking system and free swims are set to resume next year, funded by Babergh.
