Police have labelled vandalism at a Hadleigh play park where nails and shards of glass were glued to swings as 'senseless' and 'disgusting'.

An appeal has been issued for information after the damage occurred overnight between Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 October at a play park off Sarah Rand Road.

Nails and shards of glass were reported as glued to the seats of the swings, which have now been removed and cleared away.

Sergeant Louisa Masterson said: "This is a senseless and, frankly, disgusting act of criminal damage that could have caused injury to local children and young people who use the play area.

"Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team have been conducting patrols in the area and speaking to local residents and I would like to thank everyone who has so far assisted with our enquiries."

Anyone with information, including anyone driving overnight on those dates who may have dash cam footage of suspicious activity, is urged to speak to the officers on patrol or contact Suffolk Police quoting 37/55944/21 via: the website here...
