Police deal with early morning traffic mare

Hadleigh police had something of an unusual early morning call out today to deal with a potential mare of a hazard to motorists.

Police were called shortly before 5.45am following reports of a loose horse on the road in Pond Hall Road, Hadleigh.

The horse took off down a lane, ignoring the 'no horses' sign as it enjoyed its dawn gallop before contentedly munching on grass.

Although the Pond Hall Road was quiet, PC Dave Wright positioned his patrol car and mustered all his rodeo skills to help round-up the four-legged menace.

Officers were able to capture the runaway and the owner was reunited with the chestnut horse, no animals or humans were injured in this early morning escapade.
