Hard pressed Hadleigh councillors will tonight be asked to fill committee roles left after two more members of Hadleigh Together quit the town council.

Carl Beer and Ben Dixon have stayed tight-lipped about their reasons for standing down, just weeks after two others from their group Richard Hinton and Lisa Gordon resigned.

Both were approached for comment by Nub News but have failed to respond.

The duo wrote to Cllr Minns as Hadleigh Together leader and town mayor, setting out their reasons for resigning quite fully but have refused to tell the electors that voted them in.

Cllr Minns said: "It is a great pity that we are losing two councillors who have exceptional records in work for our community through their involvement in Hadleigh Vets.

"They have brought a younger perspective to HTC, especially with the future of the Layham Road Sports Ground. Of that aspect of the council's work in particular I hope they will continue to be part, even if they are no longer councillors."

The resignations leaves three vacancies on the town matters committee, one on the planning committee and another for Hadleigh Market Feoffment

Charity. Tonight's monthly Hadleigh council meeting will also be without town centre manager Cheryl Tye, who has on sick leave for much of the month and is not due to return until February. Ms Tye has been heavily criticised for her handling of the Christmas tree project, which has been labelled a fiasco. Meanwhile the

Babergh election notice for Hadleigh South has been posted here.
