Hadleigh man arrested after series of making off without payment allegations

A Hadleigh man and a woman from Sudbury have been arrested in connection with a series of cases when people made off from pubs an restaurants without making mayment.
Police investigating a series of incidents, including one in Upper Layham and two in Hintelsham, where offenders made off without payment from restaurants and pubs in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex arrested two people in Ipswich, earlier today.
Officers arrested a 45 year old man from Hadleigh and a 43 year old woman from Sudbury on suspicion of making off without payment. They have been taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning where they remain.

At Hintlesham Hall on 9 August, and The George at Hintlesham on 24 August 2020. The Waterfront Bistro on Key Street in Ipswich on 2 September. Two cases were reported in Norfolk at the Bird In Hand Pub in Wreningham on 19 July 2020 and the Sugar Beat Public House in Bracon Ash on 20 July. One case was also reported in Essex on 23 August at the Barn Brasserie on Brook Road in Colchester where a meal worth £146 was not paid for. Police have also asked for editors and social media admins to remove CCRV stills from online platforms has arrests have been made and proceedings are active.
