A former Women's Royal Navy Service (Wren) is urging those with connections to the service to get involved in project to preserve its history.
Margaret Norman, who is also a volunteer at the HMS Ganges Museum in Shotley Gate, has been backing the WRNS Burghfield - Dauntless Divisional Photographic project since its inception four years ago.
The call is for anyone with connections to Wrens from between 1946 to 1981 to get in touch and share either their, or relatives', experiences with the project, which is supported by the Association of WRNS.
Margaret added: "Those those pesky Wrens get everywhere, I know I am not the only one in Chelmondiston and in conversations everyone seems to have known one.
" This nationwide project has been running for over four years and has found information for over two thirds of the Divisions that passed through HMS Dauntless. Very much the sister establishment to HMS Ganges.
"It is hoped eventually to lodge the new archive with a Naval Museum."
The main organiser is Mandy Powell, who can be contacted on the [email protected]. address.
