Hadleigh Foodbank Charity is searching for new premises after being told it needs to leave its current base in Crockatt Road.

The food bank, which was set up as a charity in 2020, is run by three trustees and a raft of volunteers help deliver food parcels on a daily basis to families in the Hadleigh area.

It is understood one of the trustees made it public that she had contracted Covid-19 and as a consequence other business centre users expressed concerns to the management.

Meanwhile, an increase in demand, especially during the coronavirus lockdown has also led to the food bank looking to move to bigger premises.

They also offer recycled laptops and other electronic devices to help children learn from home. During better times the charity has has bikes for hire.

Mrs Lucas, the foodbank charity's chair, said: "I can confirm that Hadleigh FoodBank Charity is currently seeking larger premises. The continued growth and increased need for our services are the drivers in this search.

"Such a move will enable a smoother logistics operation and improved working conditions for our dedicated volunteers. We are working with our current landlord to agree notice period final leave date.

"Our landlord, Hadleigh Business Centre, has always been very supportive of us and our work.

"If anyone knows of a suitable business unit for us we would appreciate hearing from you. Please contact us on [email protected]".

Hadleigh Business Centre has been contacted for comment but has so far failed to respond.
