A director at Hadleigh Foodbank Charity has released a statement after being cleared of wrongdoing following allegations of fraud, made last year.
Angela Gregg spoke of her relief at the outcome and hopes the matter can be put behind them and everyone can move on.
The statement read:
"On October 4th 2020, A Facebook post, which I was the subject of, was shared many times in many groups before the police requested it was removed. Serious Allegations were made in regard to the running & financial matters of Hadleigh Foodbank alleging fraud & theft had taken place. Following a four month Investigation by CID, who were contacted by this individual to seek confirmation of their allegations against me, incidentally others involved in this investigation were big organisations such as the National Lottery, Barclays Bank, Babergh District Council and others, all of these were alleged to have been subjected to fraudulent activity. On the advice of the Police I can now reveal that not one of the allegations made were found to be true and the Police are taking no further action against me. The file is closed. They found no evidence to suggest any wrongdoing at all. It has been quite a stressful time and it has gone on for 9 months, of which this didn't only affect myself, but my family, the Charity volunteers & trustees & the organisations & the police, whose time has been clearly wasted. I would like to thank those who have always supported & believed in me, especially the amazing team of volunteers & trustees past & present. Hadleigh Foodbank Charity continues to grow & diversify its support to those who need us, because as our motto states we are #NotJustAFoodBank." The charity has opened a shop at Kersey Mill and was last week visited by the High Sheriff of Suffolk.
