Suffolk police force is holding its first face to face recruitment event for the Specials since the start of the pandemic.
Taking place on Saturday 17 September at Police HQ, Martlesham, the event will cover what it's like being a volunteer police officer in Suffolk, the recruitment process, including discussing the application form and the new College of Policing Assessment Centre.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak to serving Specials about their experiences and ask any questions. We will also have members of our specialist teams attending so they can find out about the opportunities available longer term.
The event is running from 10am where people can come along to PHQ at some point from that time to find out more and chat with the team. The event will finish with a presentation around the application and assessment process at 11:30am. Karen Harris, Citizens in Policing Manager, said "As the school summer holidays have now ended there maybe some people at a loose end with time on their hands to spare, so here's an opportunity to try something new and challenging. We are seeking applicants from all communities in our county so if you have 16 hours a month to offer us, anytime of day or night and are interested in finding out more please come along to this online event.
"Specials are an integral part of our organisation, they are extremely valued and valuable, all of our Special officers are highly trained and play an essential role in preventing, reducing and tackling crime and keeping Suffolk safe."
