Angela Wiltshire has urged fellow Hadleigh councillors to support a plan designed to help residents with the current cost of living crisis.

Cllr Wiltshire has posted a motion to be heard at the town council on Thursday in a bid to ease financial pressures, especially caused by climate problems.

She has called on the council to agree to work with partners in Hadleigh to support residents who are affected by the Cost-of-Living Crisis in the coming months.

This could include, but is not limited to:

-heated, lit spaces with access to food and electricity for work and homework

-support to insulate homes to keep energy use and bills down - education and support to cut energy use (and therefore bills)

-bulk buy items to keep costs down

-network with other councils providing similar schemes

-to consider and support grant applications to funding bodies to support these activities.

Hadleigh's Fresh Start Charity are among groups looking to help residents.

Cllrs Wiltshire is also organising free detail treatment for residents and Ukrainian refugees to visit the town in October, with chairs Dentaid agreeing to visit.
