House gutted by fire

Friends, family and other well-wishers have rallied to help a Hadleigh family that lost everything in a house fire.

A blaze ripped through the home in Churchill Avenue in the town on Sunday evening, with four crews from Hadleigh, Ipswich and Nayland tackling the blaze.

The family of five escaped the fire unhurt but all their belongings have been destroyed.

Neighbour Emma Jay from Bradfield Crescent, set up a Just Giving page and said: "They have lost most, if not all of their personal belongings, children's clothes, toys and items that are most precious to them, which they will never be able to get back.

"This is absolutely heartbreaking which is why I wanted to take this time to try and raise as much money as possible to try and help take some of the pressures away and start to help rebuild their lives."

An initial target of £1,000 has already been exceeded but more will be needed.
