Many of you will have noticed the purple coloured linseed flax flowers on peninsula fields but you may not be aware that laws were passed requiring people to consume linseed (flax) for its health benefits by King Charlemagne in the 8th century. Linseed was one of the original medicines, used by Hippocrates the Greek physician as a relief to intestinal abdominal pains.
