Updated: The body of a woman has been found in Hadleigh after fire crews from Hadleigh, Woodbridge and Ipswich took part in a water incident in the river Brett near to Duke Street in Hadleigh..

Police, fire and ambulance crew attended the location but the woman was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

A police spokesperson said: "It is believed that the body found was of a woman in her 90s reported who was reported missing that morning.

"The death is being treated as unexplained at this time but police do not currently believe there are any suspicious circumstances.

"Next of kin have been informed and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course."

Five appliances in total were called out to the incident at 1.50pm and were eventually stood down at 17.45 in the four hour incident.

Police and ambulance crews were also called to the incident.
