Detailed plans for 48 houses to be built in Bildeston, near Hadleigh, have been put out for consultation.

Babergh's planning committee gave outline planning permission for the controversial development on land east of Artiss Close and Rotheram Road in 2017 and now members will be asked to allow the design, mix and appearance of the scheme

Agents for the applicant have submitted details for six one bed, 15 two bed, six three bed, 15 four bed and six five bedroom homes on the new development.

The scheme has 17 affordable and shared owners homes provided as part of the permission, including:

six one bed flats

four two bed flats

three two bed houses

four two shred ownership

One objection has already been lodged with Kelvin Moody of Offton saying he still object turning many of Suffolk's villages into mini towns, however accepts the decision allow this development has been made.

Mr Moody wrote: "A year ago this month Offton had an application for the provision of 32 houses and additional paraphernalia overturned at appeal as we are a Hamlet in the countryside with narrow unlit roads, no footpaths and a 2km walk to the nearest bus stop/pub and further still to the local school/shop/garage etc.

"The situation with the roads hasn't and isn't likely to change in any way shape or form in my lifetime.

"We are already seeeing an increase in LGV traffic through our villages (Blakenham,Somersham,Willisham, and Offton) as drivers follow the sat nav recommendations to destinations. A large proportion of this and normal traffic give no respect to our 30mph limit and because of the size of our village and supposed minimal amount of traffic law enforcement is loathe to help, we have tried!

"Therefore as part of the reserved matters appertaining to this development I should like it made an enforceable point that NO construction traffic in relation to this development be allowed to access the site via the villages of Blakenham,Somersham, Offton and Willisham. But instead is instructed to use the route clearly signed and obeyed in full by the users of the RAF camp at Wattisham and via the the B1113 and B1078. This route is proven and works well both for traffic and residents."
