Hadleigh Town Council re-elected Councillor McLeod as Mayor at Tuesday's Full council Meeting, which was delayed from last Thursday.
They agreed to defer the election of the Deputy Mayor until next month's meeting.
Council agreed to co opt several new councillors - Theresa Wright, Diane Bayliss, Adrian Taylor and Helen Elliott - and there were a couple of old faces, William Wilson and Frank Minns, seeking to rejoin the council following an uncontested election in May which had left nine spaces vacant.
The co option of these new councillors means that three vacancies remain.
It was agreed that all councillors would become members of the Staffing Subcommittee, Hadleigh Market Feoffment Charity Committee and the Planning Committee, but the membership of other committees was not discussed.
A member of the public asked about the siting of an election board at the Cricket Club, (Hadleigh Town Council property and a polling station) during the pre election period. This breached electoral regulations.
Mayor McLeod appeared slightly confused about when and how he knew about this, but said that the council had not known and if they had known they would not have allowed it, despite being asked on May 3 in an email from Nub News about it, which he and the council failed to respond to.
Cllr Monks had given her apologies and co option applicant, Frank Minns, did not attend, while other co optees did.
The council agreed to carry on with covid measures, and zoom capability was discussed. It was agreed that audio on those broadcasts and the recordings needed addressing as it was not fit for purpose.
The meeting then went into confidential session to discuss a staffing matter and a stage two complaint.
The next meeting is again, out of sync with the normal pattern and will be on 4th Thursday of June.
