Farmer Geoff Mayhew is leading the way by being an auctioneer to raise funds to help Team GB sailors get to Australa so they can compete in the World Championships

The Cadet World Championships are being held in Melbourne Australia 2022 this winer and an Auction of Promises is due to be held at the crews base in Waldringfield in September.

The Waldringfield Cadet Squadron on Saturday 10th September which is the Saturday of the Cartoon Trophy. The evening will include food and refreshments and we aim to make it a fun celebration of Cadet Sailing in the Class' 75th year.

The purpose of the Auction is to help raise funds to pay for transporting boats by container to Australia, to help with charter costs for those not taking boats and to pay for a coach and rib at the venue.

For previous Southern Hemisphere worlds the GB crew has been fortunate enough to secure a headline sponsor but the current economic environment makes this unlikely and container costs have increased significantly due to global supply chain issues.

Therefore an auction of promises will e held, which will include lots offering an opportunity to win a ride in a super-car, hatch chickens, enjoy a weekend at a beach hut and many more prizes.
