Car parking machine upgrade work in Hadleigh car parks starts from Monday

Work to replace ticket machines in Hadleigh car parks will start as from Monday.

Many of the current machines in the Babergh operated car parks in the town and neighbouring Sudbury, have reached the end of their working lives.

The upgrades will ensure car park users will able to make card payments – with MiPermit and cash options still remaining, as well as a significant reduction in machine breakdowns and knock-on delays from sourcing replacement obsolete parts.

The maintenance work will be spread over the next couple of weeks and users will be able to find further information about specific days when works will take place displayed in each car park.

Babergh's cabinet last year agreed to essential work being carried out and to reduce free parking in the council owned car parks to one hour.

Failure to lessen free parking to an hour forced council tax increase, claim Greens.
