A Hadleigh councillor is using her milestone birthday to help bring free dental treatment to the town.

Instead of getting gifts on her 60th birthday Angela Wiltshire has asked people to donate to a JustGiving page to help raise the £2,000 needed to fund a visit by mobile dental charity Dentaid, which will provide free treatment to Hadleigh residents.

As part of her appeal Angela said: "A visit from Dentaid to treat the people of Hadleigh and the surrounding villages who cannot find, or do not qualify for, an NHS dentist, will cost around £2000.

"It will mean that some of our friends and neighbours who are struggling with tooth problems and cannot afford to pay privately will access the treatment they need.

"This fundraiser is explicitly for their visit to Hadleigh, to see residents of Hadleigh, and the surrounding villages, in October 2022."

Although Cllr Wiltshire is on the town council, she started work on securing a visit by Dentaid last year before bringing elected, and received confirmation from the charity last month they would visit, but basic running costs would need to be covered.
