Another trustee quits beleaguered Hadleigh Foodbank Charity

Yet another trustee has resigned from the Hadleigh Food Bank charity just weeks after two other trustees abruptly quit.

Linda De Nasai, who held the position of secretary, stepped down from the board earlier this week, just weeks after former chair Ruth Lucas and treasurer Paul Shipperlee both stood down from their positions, and refused to explain why they resigned.

The trio follow in the footsteps of Sasha Lawrence who resigned from the Hadleigh Food Bank Charity last December for personal reasons.

The only original trustee at the charity, set up in September last year, is Angela Gregg, who was joined by Elliott Rix and Ms De Nasai as trustees in January this year.

There are currently just four trustees, with five needed to be on the board, according to the Charity Commission regulations.

Two new trustees were appointed in March with Mrs Gregg's teenage daughter Hollie Gregg and Boxford business owner Myalee Chaytor joining the board.

Hadleigh Foodbank Charity are in the middle of a move to Kersey Mill after the foodbank agreed to leave Hadleigh Business centre amid concerns over Mrs Gregg's presence when she had admitted having Covid-19.

Mrs Gregg was also the co-founder of the food bank along with Neil Bevis and they provided food parcels, and then cycle hire and recycled laptops.

An acrimonious split last August saw the pair go their own way with Mr Bevis setting up the Just Food group in Hadleigh, which operates from the Ansell Centre in Hadleigh.

Mrs Gregg claimed to Nub News that Ms De Nasia resigned from the Hadleigh Foodbank Charity due to mental health reasons, which we are looking to verify but have not yet been able to reach Ms De Nasai. We can be contacted at Nub News: [email protected]
