Yet another popular Hadleigh High Street business is set to close.

Spice Indian Takeaway in the town centre announced on social media they will not be renewing their lease on the building and due to personal reasons will be closing their business.

The post read: "To all of our valued Spice customers, it saddens us to let you know that Spice lease is up for sale and our journey will soon come to an end.

"We have had to make this difficult decision due to our own personal reasons but we hope to have your continued support until we have news on our final days. From the Spice team."

The impending closure of Spice Island adds to a number of other shops that have closed in and around the High Street over the past couple of years.

These include Partridges, Innes Butchers, Rosebud florists, Papillon clothes shop and M&Co.

A visitor centre for the town often uses an empty budding during the summer season as a pop up shop and this year will use the empty Papillon shop next to the popular Men's Room.

Babergh's economy team is among bodies looking to regenerate market town centres, and include Hadleigh Vision as one of its initiatives.
