A mixture of activities are available over the summer holidays to provide entertainment and support to families in Hadleigh as part of the Babergh council's commitment to health and wellbeing.
From football to swimming, cooking sessions to dance classes, there's something for everyone to enjoy this summer with events running from 24 July until 1 September.
Explore Outdoor will be getting families out and about in nature with adventure days and a 'teen challenge', while Kinetic Science will allow children to learn through fun with hands-on experiments.
There will also be a variety of cooking lessons provided by Explore Outdoor and Inspire Suffolk – helping the fight against holiday hunger.
Additionally, there will be sessions for swimming, dance, football, arts and crafts, fencing and much more at various locations.
Free places on the summer activities programme are allocated to youngsters in receipt of free school meals, or eligible for other reasons, as identified by their local schools.
This is part of the Holiday Activity and Food programme, but some sessions are available to local families for a small fee.
A series of Family Fun Days will be also taking place across the district during July offering everything from climbing walls to archery, face-painting to sports and are free to attend for everyone.
These are taking place between 10am and 2pm on:
- Thursday 27 July at Shotley Village Hall
- Friday 28 July at East House Park, Hadleigh
- and Monday 31 July at Belle Vue Park, Sudbury
Cllr Sallie Davies, cabinet member for People and Place (East) and East Bergholt ward member, said: "With so many exciting things to get involved in, we hope this will help make it a summer to remember for our communities, offering valuable support to parents and children.
"It's fantastic that these events are returning this summer and I would encourage families to join in the fun. We hope these events will help ease some of the school holiday pressures that many families face."
