85-year-old Hadleigh man accused of wife's attempted murder has Crown Court trial date set

An 85-year-old Hadleigh man accused of attempting to murder his wife will stand trial at the end of November.

David Walmsley, of Meadows Way, Hadleigh, is alleged to have committed the offence on May 28 and was arrested on the same day.

Despite not entering a plea when he appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday, Mr Walmsey was told by Judge Martyn Levett he will stand trial on November 20.r.

Christopher Paxton KC, representing Walmsley, said that the defence was looking to obtain further medical evidence in the case ahead of trial.

Mr Walmsley was remanded in custody until next month's trial, due to be heard at Ipswich Crown Court.
