Police thank public trying to help Hadleigh man burnt in garage fire

Police have thanked members of the public who rushed to help a man who was seriously injured in a fire at agarge in Hadleigh this morning.

Emergency services were called at just before 07:20am, today, Tuesday 20 April to reports of a fire at the Lady Lane Garage, Lady Lane in the town.

One man in his 40's sustained serious burn injuries and has been taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford by air ambulance for treatment. The man's injuries are thought to life-changing/life-threatening.

Police would like to thank members of the public on the scene who initially came to the man's aid.

Local roads were closed to assist in the response but have since reopened.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident but believe that nobody else was involved.
