Another vacancy has arisen for a town councillor in Hadleigh after Angela Gregg quit.
Mrs Gregg, who originally stood as a member for Hadleigh Together, but then switched to being an Independent has resigned with immediate effect.
No reason has been given for her resignation, although Mrs Gregg recently told fellow councillors she had been tested positive for Covid-19, has had to deal with a further two Trustees resigning from the hadleigh Foodbank Charity.
The vacancy, advertised on the Babergh District Council website here... does not necessarily mean there will be an election, especially in May.
Mrs Gregg's resignation now makes six vacancies at the beleaguered town council, which has been wracked by controversy over the past four years.
A vote by Hadleigh residents for the new vacancy will only be called for if, by April 9 2021 a request for an election to fill the vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address below by TEN electors.
If that many people all for it then an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option. If an election is called, it will take place not later than 15th June 2021.
Proper Officer:
Arthur Charvonia, Returning Officer, Endeavour House, 8 Russell Road, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1 2BX.
